History

The Tile Association was formed in January 2000 to represent the whole of the UK wall and floor tile Industry under one organisation.

It was the coming together of three well established national bodies; the tiling contractors' association, NMTFA, the manufacturers' association, BCTC and the association for retailers and distributors, NTA.

The three associations had been working together to promote tiles and tiling as The Tile Promotion Board for three years before they merged.

Membership has doubled in the last three years. A training scheme for tiling contractors has been put in place and a qualification for showroom staff has been launched. The Tile Association has an active marketing campaign promoting product and tiles in general appear regularly in a wide range of publications. The Tile Association is also highly involved in all technical aspects of the industry
