TTA Charity Children Today benefits from a staggering £14000

Guests at the 2009 TTA Awards evening pledged just over £9500 towards Children Today, the Association's nominated charity.

Children Today focus on providing specialist equipment to young people up to the age of 25. Demi and Alex, two of the children who benefited from specialist equipment joined guests at the Awards Dinner, along with their Mums. We learned just how much difference the equipment can make to their lives.

Since the Awards evening, we have received a number of additional pledges bringing the total sum to £14000. Given the difficult economic times, The Tile Association is immensely grateful to everyone who made donations.

Can you put a smile on 100 children's faces?

In 2010 The Tile Association will be 10 years old, and to celebrate we are issuing a challenge to all members to raise £10 a month to put a smile on 100 children's faces.

Our challenge will enable Children Today to buy sufficient equipment to help 100 children throughout the UK.

It's not difficult to raise £10 a month, here are some ideas:

• Host a curry night and charge your friends a little extra for a night out
• Have a swear box at work
• Sign up to do a parachute jump and get sponsored
• Run a monthly prize draw at work
• Sponsored pub crawl
• Ask 10 friends for £1 per month
• Hold a dress down day or pay to park at work
• Have a coffee morning/cake sale or raffle
• Take part in an event, e.g. fire walking, Krypton Factor Assault Course, Abseil, Ghost Hunt, see www.childrentoday.org.uk for more ideas, or
• Set up a direct debit and sit back.

The Tile Association and Children Today will be offering a special award at the 2010 TTA Awards for the most innovative way of raising funds for Children Today.
