2009 Awards Charity

The Tile Association is delighted to announce that it will be supporting Children Today as its charity for the 2009 TTA Awards Dinner in April 2009.

The Tile Association has supported Children Today at the last two Awards Dinners and at the 2008 Dinner a staggering £13000 was raised to support the organisation. All the money will go to buying specialist equipment.

Supporting Children Today changes the lives of children and young people who are in desperate need of funding and support. They provide grants and funding for specially designed equipment that brings greater quality of life and independence to children with disabilities in the UK.

Being able to walk and move is often the foundation for many communication skills. Children who cannot speak or verbally communicate often physically need others to help explain what they are trying to say. Specially designed walking aids given children the chance to be mobile and independent.

Children Today also provide a wide range of communication aids to disabled children each year. Without communication tools many disabled children are not being given the chance to grow and develop the skills that they deserve.

What impressed us most about the charity was the speed in which Children Today deal with requests for help. Within a matter of weeks a young person can take delivery of the new equipment which will change their lives for the better as soon as it arrives at their home.

TTA believes that by supporting Children Today, we are giving children and young people the chance to experience more freedom and a wider range of activities, giving them greater independence and quality of life.
