The TTA Golf Challenge 2008

The Tile Association Golf Challenge took place on the Brabazon Course at the Belfry, on Saturday 19 April 2008. The Brabazon course has hosted more Ryder cups than any course in the world. The website states "The Brabazon course is set out with a lot of manmade features including water hazards, lakes & mounds. American style, target golf comes into play with the positioning of your golf ball being the essential key to scoring well."...but it was very windy.

Saturday 19th April was a very cold and windy day on the Belfry Brabazon course.	Even the ducks weren’t impressed by the weather	There is Ian Roberts of Banks & Lloyd telling his playing partners “I’m used to much shorter courses – with windmills and stone bridges”
Is that Tiger Woods over there? How long is the 17th? 530 yards!!!	Oh no, Lesley, I’m not playing with them am I?	Somebody said the 17th is 530 yards – its not really that long - is it?
What’s the game plan Dad - Did you say to keep the ball low?	First out Richard Friebe and his son Daniel from WB Simpson with Malcolm Day representing TTA and John Kennedy from B Darnton...	...and the weather isn’t getting any better

Whatever you do, don’t wake the ducks	The BASF team – Steve Saunders, Jon Hall, Shane Arbuckle and Andrew Walker	The WB Simpson Team – Paul Starkey, Eamon McKevilly, Kevin Kinch and Gerald Thomas. Kevin brought his son along as caddy.
Everett Lakeland from BOET, Frederick Smith from H E Smith and Simon Nunn and Terry Clare from W B Simpson Tiling	Neil Rodgerson and Mark Clements from W Rodgerson & Sons with Sean Lane and Steve Wyatt from Neptune Shipping. Steve won the first TTA Golf Challenge – and the second	Darryl Shaw, Peter Hughes, and Ken Frankland representing CP Group with Mark Rahman from Banks & Lloyd
The Armatile team, Colm Murphy, Paul Quinn and Martin Kelly with Stuart Barnett from Banks & Lloyd. It would be a long day for the three from Armatile who had caught a 7am flight from Belfast.	Bob Keefe, Rob Belcher and Derek Pettigrew from Pentagon with Ian Roberts from Banks & Lloyd were the last out

After a long cold day the winner of TTA Golf Challenge 2008 was Daniel Friebe of W B Simpson & Sons with 34 Points. Mark Clements of W Rodgerson & Sons had the longest drive on the 16th and Neil Rodgerson of W Rodgerson & Sons got nearest the pin on the 7th.
