Today, Friday 10th October 2025, is World Mental Health Day, an annual reminder of the importance of good mental health and the need to prioritise and invest in good mental health.

The Lighthouse Charity, backed by The Tile Association, provide dedicated mental health and wellbeing support. It is the only charity that provides emotional, physical and financial wellbeing support to the construction community and their families. For every £1 of charitable spend, the charity claims to deliver £10.06 in social value.
Lighthouse’s free, confidential resources to seek support include: a 24/7 helpline covering all aspects of wellbeing; a live web chat; a self-support app; a text HARDHAT service providing immediate one-to-one support; and Lighthouse Beacons, volunteer support groups around the UK and Ireland.
The charity also provides urgent financial support – including for emergency food shops, household energy bills, household goods, counselling sessions and suicide awareness courses. In addition, Lighthouse’s Wellbeing Academy includes a number of free courses on health and wellbeing topics suited to diverse learning styles. Lighthouse campaigns to #MakeItVisible, taking the social stigma away from mental health issues and support.
The Tile Association signposts these resources on its dedicated Wellbeing Support webpage. There you can also find the contact details for TTA’s trained mental health ambassadors, who generously volunteer to provide their confidential assistance if you are looking for help or simply need someone to speak to.
TTA’s mental health ambassador scheme includes:
- Isa Celik
- Stuart Gillson
