How did you get into the tiling industry?
I got into tiling through our family business. My dad has been laying tiles since 1981, and I learned the trade from him. Today, I’m proud to carry on that family tradition.
What region do you work in?
London, Essex.
What types of installations do you provide?
I provide complete bathroom installations from start to finish, including waterproofing, underfloor heating and all tiling work. I work with a wide range of tiles and formats, from large-format tiles to intricate mosaics, with a particular specialism in mosaic installations for steam rooms and swimming pools.
What tiling projects are you most proud of?
One project that immediately comes to mind is a recent installation of mosaic tiled heated loungers.
Their complex curves made it a particularly challenging and rewarding job, requiring careful planning and attention to detail to keep the mosaics aligned as they followed the contours.

That said, I take pride in bringing a luxury finish to every project, whatever its size. Even in a small shower room, details such as carefully crafted mitred edges, finished with colour-matched epoxy rather than metal trims, can make the space feel special. For me, it’s about giving every installation that same level of care.
What is the most valuable lesson you have learned on the job?
The most valuable lesson I’ve learnt is that there’s always more to learn, no matter how much experience you have. Every project brings a different challenge, and I’ve learnt the importance of taking a step back, thinking it through and being willing to adapt. Often, it’s the most demanding jobs that teach you the most and help you improve your skills.
What is the best advice you have been told or would like to share for those entering the industry?
Treat every job as if you were working in your own home. Take pride in the preparation as much as the finished result, and don’t cut corners on the details people won’t see. Be willing to ask questions and keep learning – the care you put into your work is what builds your reputation.
Why did you become a member of The Tile Association?
I wanted to become a member of The Tile Association because it was important to me to have my workmanship assessed and recognised by an organisation that champions high standards in our industry. I also saw membership as an opportunity to develop my skills, learn from other professionals and continue growing within the trade.
What do you like most about your job?
What I enjoy most is the challenge of intricate mosaic installations, particularly working with curves and planning the layout so that every joint lines up all the way around a space. There’s a real sense of satisfaction in solving those challenges and seeing everything come together. I take just as much pride in the finishing details, such as carefully crafted mitred edges filled with colour-matched epoxy. For me, those final touches make all the difference – they bring the whole project together and turn good workmanship into something special.
What do you like to do outside of work?
Outside of work, I enjoy spending quality time with my family, unwinding at home with some classic rock and a good cup of black coffee, or getting out on my motorbike to explore the countryside. It’s all about switching off and enjoying the things that matter.
