TTA HIGHLIGHTS INDUSTRY CHALLENGES IN THE TIMES

Published April 8, 2026

The Tile Association (TTA) continues to proactively represent the interests of its members, raising awareness of the challenges currently impacting the tiling sector and wider construction industry.

Through ongoing lobbying and engagement with key industry bodies and government channels, TTA is ensuring that the voice of the tiling industry is heard at the highest level. As a result of this work, TTA CEO Kay Porter was invited to provide comment to The Times, making TTA one of the few trade associations approached by a respected national publication to comment on the current situation.

Featured in The Times on 2nd April (page 8), the article highlights the growing pressures on the construction supply chain, including rising costs, delays and disruption to imports. Expanding from the UK ceramics industry to video game consoles and fish and chips, Formula 1 and flowers, the article raises awareness for how ‘conflict in the Middle East’ is having ‘varied (and unexpected) effects on our economy.’
