Congratulations on being chosen as a finalist for Employee of the Year category at the TTA awards!Could you tell us a little more about your career so far and what has led to you being nominated to be Employee of the Year?
I have worked in the industry for over 7 years now and have always pushed myself in every role I have held. Whether it be merchandising, sales, warehouse & stock management or business management. Since working for Stafford Tiles & Flooring I have been able to shape the company, its product ranges and it’s public image into how I felt it should be. Leading it to become the area’s best and biggest place to come for tiles and flooring.
I work closely with members of the public, tilers, kitchen and bathroom fitters, interior designers, architects and contractors to create a close personal working relationship that I and the company feel is important to maintain. Having taken the business from a small boutique store to the largest showroom in the area, I feel that the friendly personal service that is offered to everyone is one of the key reasons for the company’s success.
Having a wealth of product knowledge, a polite temperament, a drive to satisfy and every customer and a commitment to the company that I work for and represent I think it would be hard to find anyone else that has as much passion and loyalty to as I do for my employer, the industry and the customer base that I have helped to build. Whether it’s a small basin splashback or 3000m2 for a commercial development, I treat everyone with the same level of respect and professionalism that they deserve.
What does being a finalist mean for you and your business?
Being amongst the finalists for employee of the year is a very proud moment for me. It shows that hard work, passion and commitment can really pay off. To be recognized out of all of the members of the TTA in the entire UK and in Ireland is just overwhelming. I know that I wouldn’t be where I am without the help and support of my friends, family and most importantly my employers but I do know that this nomination can only lead to greater things for myself and the business. A shortlisting such as this can really help to cement my name and the companies name into the industries minds. But if I were to win the award, I cannot think of a prouder moment in my working career than by winning a national recognition for my field of work. I wish everyone shortlisted, in all categories, the best of luck. I know that they all deserve to be winners.
