New CDM regulations come into force 6th April, 2015

Draft guidance on the new Construction Design and Management (CDM) Regulations 2015, coming into force on the 6th April, 2015, has been published by the Health and Safety Executive (HSE).

The new regulations are currently subject to Parliamentary approval, however, once confirmed will set out duties for Contractors, Designers and Construction Workers as well as Principle Designers and Contractors.

These are the main set of regulations for managing the health, safety and welfare of construction projects. CDM applies to all building and construction work and includes new build, demolition, refurbishment, extensions, conversions, repair and maintenance.

CITB has produced the industry guidance written with small businesses in mind and each one sets out in practical terms what actions are required to deliver building and construction projects in a way that prevents injury and ill health.

They can now be downloaded for your information via the CITB website here: http://www.citb.co.uk/health-safety-and-other-topics/health-safety/construction-design-and-management-regulations/cdm-guidance-documents/
