The competition to find the country’s best young tilers gets under way with regional heats from April to June, with registration for this year’s SkillBuild opening on 1st February.
SkillBuild is the UK’s largest multi-trade competition and covers 10 trades, including wall and floor tiling. Registration for this year’s competition will be open from 1st Feburary to 11th March.
Following regional heats across England and Wales, national finals for each trade are held at the Skills Show at Birmingham’s NEC in November. The best young tradespeople also have the chance to earn selection to the national squad for World Skills events.

The Tile Association has urged member companies to support this year’s Skillbuild competition, which finds the best trainee tilers across the country.
With the help of member companies, the TTA is the main supplier for the wall and floor tiling competition. Member companies can support the competition by supplying materials and equipment for the regional heats, as well as for the national title at The Skills Show.
