Funding is still available until the end of June for retail NVQ apprenticeships and CSCS cards. All tile retailer members of the TTA are being encouraged to apply for funding to train their staff for the TTA qualification “The Tile Retail NVQ”. Building on the traditional Retail NVQ, this new qualification includes the provision of material training days, which enable the student to attend different manufacturers and receive training on their products and services.
The Tile Association is now offering the chance to be part of our training initiative, focused on helping to ensure that the next generation of tile retailers are suitably qualified with the skills and knowledge necessary to maintain the industry’s high professional standards. This specialised qualification is available, together with help with funding for businesses that wish to put their employees through the training.
TTA were awarded funding from Construction Skills in 2014 to help with industry training and funding, and this is currently still available for businesses who wish to register their employees for the training before the end of the June 2015.
This funding applies to a number of courses as well as to the Tile Retail NVQ, which has been developed by TTA.
There is a distinct advantage in registering to do the Tile Retail NVQ through TTA, as we are exclusive providers of material training days, offered by our manufacturer members.
On these material training days, the employee will be given training on specific products, will benefit from factory tours and get the chance to meet manufacturers training personnel who have a high degree of specialist product and industry knowledge.
This varies from a standard Retail NVQ as it gives the learner industry specialist knowledge that is directly relevant to their course units, allowing them to provide the necessary evidence to achieve their qualification.
