Just for your information…
HMRC have released a bulletin explaining The Consumer Rights Act 2015. It explains that the act came into force on 1st October 2015 and its main reason was to update the laws governing every business selling directly to consumers. Due to this, the law is now clearer and easier to understand.
These changes are relevant to every business which sells directly to consumers.
The new law makes it clear what should happen when goods or digital content are faulty, or when services are not provided with reasonable care and skill.
In addition, businesses and consumers who understand their rights and responsibilities will save time and money.
So, we have produced a simple checklist and a Consumer Rights Summary which details some of the key consumer rights, making it clearer for customers and staff, as well as detailed guidance. You can print this from the Business Companion website. Make sure you are compliant with the law.
